The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) partners with local communities to support individuals with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working within their communities. APD provides critical services to help customers reach their full potential, serving people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

As a Residential Unit Specialist, you will directly impact the lives of developmentally disabled adults by providing essential support and services. Your primary mission is to implement individualized active treatment plans while ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
In this role, you will foster a home-like environment where residents can thrive. You will supervise and train residents across various settings, facilitate recreation and leisure activities, and assist with activities of daily living. Your day involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to execute behavior support plans, therapy programs, and skill acquisition activities. You will also serve as a vital link in communication, documenting resident progress and participating in meetings to refine goals and objectives.
