The Residential Program Worker (RPW) at Oak Hill's Bloomfield location plays a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities within their homes and communities. This position is designed for those with no prior experience who are eager to enter the direct care field, as well as individuals seeking a meaningful career change. The core mission is to provide a range of personalized services that help participants achieve their individual goals, ensuring their cleanliness, comfort, and well-being.
In this role, you will facilitate the development of self-help and daily living skills by assisting with personal hygiene tasks. You will also support participants in attending personal, medical, and vocational appointments, engaging in community activities, and performing domestic household services. A key part of the day involves promoting the self-administration of medications while strictly adhering to Oak Hill's policies regarding medication administration, documentation, and the reporting of any errors or changes in a participant's physical or mental appearance.
This is a union position located at the Bloomfield site, operating on a part-time basis of 16 hours per week. The schedule is fixed to weekends, specifically Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A valid driver's license is required to fulfill the community-based aspects of the role.
