The Arc Eastern Connecticut is dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, ensuring they live fulfilling, person-centered lives. Our mission is to empower residents through inclusive programs and high-quality care, fostering an environment where personal growth and independence thrive. We believe that helping others is a reward that stays with you for the rest of your life, and we are committed to building a culture of respect, dignity, and cooperation.
The Residential Manager serves as the cornerstone of our home-based programs, ensuring that every resident receives care that is both person-centered and inclusive. This role exists to bridge the gap between regulatory compliance and compassionate daily living, creating a safe and empowering environment for residents to flourish.
In this position, you will lead a team of Direct Support Professionals, providing the supervision, training, and mentorship necessary to deliver exceptional care. Your day involves managing the operational and clinical aspects of the residence, from implementing individualized care plans and monitoring medication administration to maintaining strict adherence to State of Connecticut and DDS licensing regulations. You will act as a vital liaison between the home, families, day programs, and external agencies, advocating for residents' rights and ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
Beyond direct care management, you will be responsible for the physical maintenance of the agency property and vehicle, while also serving as a community ambassador by educating officials about The Arc's services. This role requires a proactive leader who can work with limited supervision, maintain confidentiality, and foster positive relationships with participants, families, and staff.
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to our mission. The interview process will focus on your experience in the health and human services field, your ability to manage complex care situations, and your fit within our collaborative team culture. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in all required DDS and agency trainings upon hiring.
