About the Team

Hawaii Job Corps Center is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located in Waimanalo, Oahu, and Makawaʻo, Maui, our campus serves as a home for 300+ young adults, ages 16–24, who have chosen Job Corps to transform their lives. We operate like a mini-college, featuring dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, and recreational and medical facilities. Our mission is to equip students with the academic, technical, employability, and social skills necessary for successful careers through open-entry, open-exit training that can last up to two years.

About the Role

As a Residential Advisor, you will be the heartbeat of our campus community, reporting to the Social Development Manager. Your primary focus is ensuring the safety, discipline, and well-being of students while fostering a supportive environment where they can thrive. You will manage group living conditions, make critical decisions regarding student behavior, and coordinate a wide array of dormitory activities, from recreation and entertainment to after-hours tutoring and learning sessions.

In this role, you will serve as a Center Duty Officer (CDO) during assigned shifts, handling student passes, leaves, emergencies, and terminations. You will act as a bridge between the campus and families, communicating to resolve issues and ensure student welfare. Additionally, you will facilitate Career Success Standards (CSS) group sessions, providing guidance on student development and maintaining accurate records and CIS information. Your work directly supports our students' journey toward vocational success in fields such as building construction, automotive, culinary arts, and health occupations.
