Collaborative is championing young futures by creating an ecosystem of the highest quality child care in the communities that need it most. We believe that a child's earliest years shape every milestone that follows, from school success to workforce readiness and economic opportunity. Our goal is to ensure Houston gains a stronger, better-skilled future labor force by helping more young children enter kindergarten curious, confident, and ready to learn.
As a Bilingual Early Childhood Specialist, you will serve as a vital link between families and school-readiness outcomes for children from birth to five years. This is not an entry-level position; it is a dynamic role focused on parental coaching to improve parenting practices and prevent child abuse and neglect.
You will work primarily in-person within Liberty County, traveling to client homes, community venues, and child care centers. While caseload-related administrative work can be performed from home, the role requires Houston-based travel and reliable personal transportation. You will utilize evidence-based curricula like Parents as Teachers and Conscious Discipline to partner with families, facilitate learning opportunities, and monitor progress. Your work will directly impact vulnerable families, including those navigating the Child Protective Services system, helping them establish goals for economic stability and overall wellness.
When you join our Family Engagement team, you become part of a mission-driven, family-friendly, and inclusive culture. We value passion for our mission, drive for results, resilience, and authenticity. Our team is dedicated to strengthening community capacity and connectedness, ensuring that every family experiences a nurturing learning environment. We invest in our people through ongoing coaching and leadership development, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where diverse backgrounds and talents are celebrated.
We are looking for candidates who are ready to make a difference every day. If you possess bilingual English/Spanish fluency, an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, and at least three years of related experience, we encourage you to apply. Please note that candidates without English/Spanish fluency will not be considered, as this is a strict requirement for serving our caseload.

The Collaborative for Children and Families operates within the hospitals and health care sector, based in New York, NY. Established in early 2014, the organization was created to address evolving healthcare delivery models for children qualifying for New York State's Medicaid program. As a registered New York State nonprofit, it functions as a coalition of 24 member agencies working together to support children and families across the five boroughs of New York City as well as Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.
The collaborative brings together these diverse agencies to provide comprehensive services in a more coordinated fashion than individual entities could manage alone. This unified approach aims to streamline care delivery and improve outcomes for the populations served. By pooling resources and expertise, the group ensures that families in the region receive consistent and integrated support through its network of member organizations.
