About the Role

This position serves as a Residential Advisor, providing on-site coverage for residents in an independent living setting. The role is designed to partner with residents in their daily activities according to their individual needs and goals, promoting a positive and supportive environment.

You will assist in performing routine resident-care duties, including coaching and supervising residents in independent living skills such as cooking, menu planning, grocery shopping, money management, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene. A key part of your day involves providing recovery-oriented counseling using active listening skills and motivational enhancement techniques to engage with residents and facilitate change and growth.

Your responsibilities also include linking residents to community transportation resources or providing transportation when necessary, maintaining medication logs, and conducting safety checks such as fire drills and emergency procedure instruction. You will work closely with the Program Manager and Clinical Coordinator to resolve physical plant or furnishing issues and ensure the cleanliness of program areas.

Schedule and Commitment

This position operates on a specific schedule: every other Thursday overnight for a total of 16 hours. The shift runs from 5:30 PM to 9:30 AM (or 5 PM to 9 AM), with a designated sleep period from 11 PM to 7 AM.
