This position is dedicated to creating a nurturing and positive learning environment for individuals with developmental disabilities. The core mission is to develop strategies that help clients effectively cope with social, emotional, and physical aspects of daily living, ultimately facilitating independent performance in these areas.
You will be an active member of an interdisciplinary team, implementing Individual Plans of Care and Follow-Along Plans tailored to each client's unique needs. Your day-to-day involves a blend of direct support and household management, ranging from teaching safety skills and personal hygiene to assisting with community outings and meal preparation. This role requires a balance of patience, energy, and a nurturing temperament to support clients in both home and community settings.
The work is performed both inside and outside the home, requiring active engagement with clients and their surroundings. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive household environment, including the upkeep of the property and agency vehicle. Building positive relationships with the neighborhood and community is a key part of fostering a supportive atmosphere for the individuals you serve.
Candidates must possess a valid Connecticut driver's license with a good driving record and reliable transportation, as the role may require utilizing a personal vehicle to transport clients. Familiarity with CRI policies and procedures is essential, and successful candidates will be expected to adhere strictly to confidentiality standards and agency protocols.
