Emory University is a leading research university dedicated to fostering excellence and attracting world-class talent to innovate for today and prepare leaders for the future. The Pak Research Group within the School of Nursing seeks a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our mission of advancing translational sleep research through rigorous data analytics and scientific writing.
This temporary position is designed for a recent PhD graduate or early-stage postdoctoral researcher eager to gain experience in high-impact publication development and NIH-funded translational research. You will serve as a hands-on bench scientist, bridging the gap between data analytics and laboratory experimentation. Your day-to-day work will involve leading statistical analyses on large clinical and epidemiologic datasets while simultaneously developing and executing biochemical and cell-based assays for high-throughput screening and structural optimization of hit compounds.
In this collaborative environment, you will communicate regularly with biomedical investigators and medicinal chemists, contribute substantially to manuscript preparation and publication development, and assist in creating abstracts, conference presentations, and grant-related materials. The role offers the opportunity to supervise staff and conduct literature reviews to support the interpretation of complex findings.
This role operates on a hybrid model. While you will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly, you must be able to commute to the Emory University campus in Atlanta, GA, on a flexible weekly schedule based on business needs. Residency in the state of Georgia is required.
