This Research Assistant position supports the "Business-State Relations in Authoritarian Regimes" project under the supervision of a faculty member or associate researcher assigned by Professor William Milberg. The role is designed to assist with the academic and operational needs of the Heilbroner Center for Capitalism Studies.
In this capacity, you will engage in the daily rhythm of academic research, performing tasks such as literature reviews, data collection, basic analysis, and drafting support. Beyond the research desk, you will play an active role in the Center's community engagement by assisting with the organization of events and convenings. This includes logistical preparation, coordination, and on-site support for conferences, workshops, and talks. You will also attend these events to provide basic logistical support, such as registration, audio-visual assistance, and note-taking.
The position requires a commitment of 10 hours per week. While the role is primarily in-person to support effective collaboration, hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis with prior approval.
We look forward to receiving your application. Selected candidates will be expected to maintain regular communication with supervisors, attend bi-weekly research assistant meetings to provide progress updates, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
