The College of Education (COE) at the University of Oregon is a community of leading researchers and practitioners dedicated to transformational scholarship, integrated teaching, and collaborative practice. Our mission is to enhance individual lives and systems within a culture that values diversity and promotes respect and inclusion. We are home to 3 academic departments, 14 academic degree programs, and numerous research and outreach units, including the HEDCO Institute and Clinic.
Our faculty, staff, and students share a distinguished record of developing widely adopted, evidence-based assessments and interventions that serve millions of children in thousands of schools globally. We are driven by a spirit of discovery that uses research to effect change, aiming for a more equitable, educated, and healthy tomorrow. Diversity and inclusion are core values; addressing inequity and racial injustice is a thread that runs through our majors and programs, focusing on critical and effective pedagogies.
Programs in educational methodology, policy, and leadership bring together scholars from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. We utilize data-informed evidence to guide professional practice and policymaking, ultimately improving how education and social systems serve students, families, and communities.
The Education Studies Department (EDST) seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates for periodic, temporary teaching appointments in the areas of educational methodology, educational policy, and leadership. These are limited-duration appointments, potentially renewable for up to three years, ranging from one to three terms per year, including summer.
As a Lecturer, you will teach a broad array of applied leadership courses. The role requires flexibility, as some courses meet during evenings or weekends, are delivered to distant sites via video conferencing, or are offered exclusively online. In online contexts, instructors must make themselves available for student contact via email, Zoom office hours, or phone. Travel within Oregon and to West Coast states may be required for certain courses.
All faculty are expected to contribute to the equity and inclusion goals of the college, incorporating the best inclusive practices in their field. Addressing issues of inequity and racial injustice is integral to the curriculum. We are committed to enhancing the college culture by increasing the diversity of our people, programs, and curricula.
The College of Education welcomes a broad spectrum of candidates and particularly invites applications from women, ethnic and racial minorities, and other individuals who are underrepresented in the profession. We encourage candidates who have worked with diverse faculty, staff, and students to identify their experiences and interests in relation to our mission of inclusivity. Before applying, we strongly encourage you to review the COE's Mission, Purpose, and Vision to assess your potential fit.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and will be reviewed as needs arise. This recruitment pool will remain active until June 30, 2026. Complete applications must include a CV/resume. Screening will continue until positions are filled.
