Position Purpose
Repair and Tool Technicians play a vital role in the evaluation, repair, and maintenance of small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. This position ensures that all units are functioning correctly and provides expert equipment recommendations to customers.
About the Role
Technicians operate across both store locations with Tool Rental Centers and dedicated repair centers. In store settings, the role involves direct customer service within the Tool Rental department. Responsibilities include drafting customer contracts and invoices for equipment rentals and repairs, verifying that tools are operating properly, and demonstrating correct usage to customers as needed. Additionally, technicians manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of equipment within the tool rental department.
In non-store repair centers, technicians focus on the end-to-end repair lifecycle. This includes repairing units, conducting quality tests to ensure repairs meet standards, and cleaning equipment before returning it to the originating store. Success in this role requires a thorough knowledge of all tools and the ability to effectively manage tool inventory through consistent maintenance and timely repairs.
