Repair and Tool Technicians play a vital role in the evaluation, repair, and maintenance of small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. This position ensures equipment reliability while providing expert recommendations to customers.
Technicians operate across two primary environments: store-based Tool Rental Centers and dedicated repair centers. In store locations, the role blends technical expertise with customer service. Technicians manage the day-to-day operation of the tool rental department, which includes drafting customer contracts and invoices for both rentals and repairs. A key part of the in-store experience involves verifying that tools are functioning correctly and demonstrating their proper use to customers as needed.
In non-store repair centers, the focus shifts to the end-to-end restoration of equipment. Technicians are responsible for repairing units, conducting rigorous quality tests to ensure repairs meet standards, and cleaning equipment before returning it to the originating store. Across all locations, a thorough knowledge of tools is essential, as technicians must effectively manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing assets to keep the fleet operational.
