This role is situated within the Behavioral and Mental Health department, specifically under the BHO - Admitting/Registration - UPC division. The team serves as the critical first point of contact for patients entering the UNM Health Systems network, ensuring a seamless transition from arrival to care. The department is dedicated to maintaining high standards of operational efficiency while providing compassionate support to individuals navigating complex healthcare and financial landscapes.
As a key member of the Admitting and Registration team, you will manage the pre-registration and registration functions for the Ambulatory and Outpatient Operations area. Beyond patient intake, you will coordinate appointments, manage data entry within hospital systems like Cerner and Siemens, and ensure strict adherence to hospital policies. You will also serve as a resource for internal and external customers, resolving inquiries and facilitating referrals to community resources. This role requires a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain open communication with physicians, clinic staff, and payors to ensure smooth process flow and accurate billing.
