As an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator, you will lead the Trauma Program's work to keep care safe and high-quality from the time a patient arrives until they leave the hospital. You will partner with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director to review cases, analyze system performance, and use data to implement changes that improve patient care. Your role ensures care meets national ACS standards, supports program requirements, and demonstrates our commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality trauma care.
In this position, you will review and analyze trauma cases in real time and retrospectively to assess quality, timeliness, and adherence to guidelines. You will identify performance-improvement opportunities and system issues, supporting action plans that drive measurable, closed-loop improvements. You will also coordinate Trauma PIPS activities and registry information to demonstrate compliance and support trauma center verification. Additionally, you will prepare and present quality findings for multidisciplinary meetings and educate clinical teams, residents, EMS agencies, and outlying facilities on trauma PI principles and best practices.
