This Registered Nurse position is based in Mayo Clinic Arizona's Surgical Progressive Care Unit, a high-acuity 24-bed facility functioning as a Magnet Facility. The unit provides unparalleled care to a diverse patient population requiring hemodynamic monitoring, High-Flow oxygen, BiPAP, titratable drips, and intensive interventions. The role serves patients across a wide spectrum of specialties, including Neurosurgery, Comprehensive Stroke, Vascular Surgery, ENT/Plastics, Internal Medicine, Hepatology, Solid Organ Transplant, and General/Colo-rectal Surgery.
As an RN, you will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. You will support professional nursing practice across the continuum of care, providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and managing transitions of care. The role involves leadership through preceptorship, formal and informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. You will delegate patient care based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource availability, while mentoring and teaching others.
