This Registered Nurse position is located at Mayo Clinic Arizona's Medical Progressive Care Unit (4 Central). This high-acuity, hybrid 36-bed unit serves a diverse patient population with capabilities ranging from hemodynamic monitoring to complex interventions. As a Magnet Facility, the unit provides exemplary resources including resource nurses, rapid response teams, vascular access specialists, respiratory therapy, and central transport.
The role involves intensive monitoring and interventions for medical patient populations, including Neurology/Comprehensive Stroke, Internal Medicine (DKA, Sepsis, GI bleeds), Hepatology, and patients requiring chest tubes, arterial/central lines, vasoactive drips, insulin drips, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, and peritoneal dialysis. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. This includes coordinating direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The role also offers opportunities for leadership through preceptorship, formal and informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
