About the Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) and Poison Control Call Center Specialist, you will serve as a critical first line of defense in toxicology emergencies. In this role, you manage and triage poison cases and exposures, assessing severity, identifying toxic substances, and calculating ingestion amounts to determine appropriate treatment pathways. Whether guiding a concerned parent through home care or coordinating with emergency departments, your clinical judgment directly impacts patient safety.

You will interact with both health professionals and the general public, providing accurate poison and drug information with a courteous, professional, and customer-focused approach. Beyond clinical triage, you will ensure comprehensive documentation for every case and serve as a preceptor for students and residents, helping to cultivate the next generation of nursing talent.

Based at the Delp Pavilion, this position operates within a specialized unit dedicated to managing toxic exposures. The team functions as a vital resource for the community, offering expert guidance on drug interactions, chemical exposures, and emergency interventions.
