About the Greater Manchester Region

The Greater Manchester Region serves a population of 300,000 people across 19 towns. It includes Manchester Memorial Hospital, a 249-bed community hospital, and Rockville General, a 102-bed campus facility. The region also encompasses a large multispecialty provider group and visiting nurse services, employing approximately 2,500 people.

About the Role

This position is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care within the peri-anesthesia and critical care settings. You will utilize the nursing process to deliver both direct and indirect care, coordinating efforts collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires responding quickly and accurately to changes in a patient's condition or response to treatment.

In this capacity, you will perform comprehensive assessments of the patient's psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural needs. You will develop and revise individualized plans of care, manage pain effectively, and ensure safe medication administration. The role also involves assisting physicians with procedures such as cardioversion, line insertions, and epidural catheter placement, while demonstrating expertise in airway management and cardio-respiratory assessment.

You will serve as a professional role model and mentor, fostering the nursing profession through collegial support. The position demands the ability to function under stress with sound judgment, prioritizing patient safety and positive outcomes while documenting the nursing process in a timely manner.
