About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Avera Specialty Hospital, you will be an integral part of the OR/Surgery team, delivering comprehensive nursing care that addresses the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. This role exists to ensure safe, high-quality surgical outcomes through meticulous care planning and coordination.
Your day will involve developing nursing diagnoses and care objectives, reviewing physician prescriptions, and conferring with physicians and the broader healthcare team. You will provide critical support by educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills, while continuously evaluating patient progress and modifying care plans as needed. Working primarily on a day shift (Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM) with occasional late coverage, you will maintain a secure environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication protocols, and safety regulations.
