About the Team

The Avera Behavioral Health Center in Sioux Falls is dedicated to providing a structured, age-appropriate therapeutic environment for children and adolescents. Our Adolescent & Child Units are designed to help patients aged 5 to 17 understand their challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and achieve their personal goals. We are a multidisciplinary team built on compassion, working together to "Move Health Forward" for our patients and the community.

About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic behavioral health setting that serves both the 40-bed Adolescent Program and the 14-bed Child Program. You will be part of a self-scheduling team of over 70 coworkers, collaborating to change lives through high-quality, autonomous nursing practice.

You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about helping patients manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, and suicidal behavior. The environment is active and challenging, requiring critical thinking and a deep appreciation for working with children, adolescents, and their families. Your day will involve developing comprehensive nursing care plans, providing physical and emotional support, and teaching patients and families about self-care skills and medications.
