Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a dynamic, fast-paced 24-bed telemetry and medical-surgical environment. We care for patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions, including chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our dedicated care team consists of charge nurses, unit assistants, and support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-6 depending on patient acuity.
Join our amazing Med/Surg Observation Unit, where nurses consistently deliver professional and compassionate care. This role is designed for nurses ready to take the next step in their journey, offering a supportive environment to grow clinically and professionally. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care plans using evidence-based practices.
We are committed to your success through a robust onboarding experience. New nurses are oriented to the unit via a comprehensive 6-8 week program featuring a dedicated preceptor team, classroom courses, and a specialized nurse residency program for new graduates. Whether you are an experienced professional or a new grad, you will find a culture that values continuous learning and high-quality patient outcomes.
New graduates are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program as part of their onboarding. All candidates must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training during orientation prior to providing patient care.
