The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team. This role is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team, managing and providing patient care activities for a group of patients and their families. The position requires the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.
In this capacity, you will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers. You will delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care, while also monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge. The RN reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.
