The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on a nursing unit. This role is critical for maintaining a high level of service and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
In this position, you will function as a preceptor to new staff and may assume the charge role, delegating and supervising unit activities as needed. The role requires flexibility to work on other nursing units according to the distribution of staff and patients. You will demonstrate specialized skill and knowledge in the care of neuro patients, including airway management, tracheostomy care, and assisting physicians during special neuro procedures.
Candidates must possess a valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License and BLS certification. One year of acute nursing experience is required; critical care or emergency experience is preferred. Applicants should be proficient in using computer software, including electronic patient records, and have the ability to use the internet for literature searches regarding patient care.
