About the Role
As a Registered Nurse at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions. Your role involves providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends, helping them understand their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
You will work as part of a collaborative team, reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating care plans, and coordinating with other healthcare providers. Your day-to-day responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and teaching patients and families about healthcare requirements. You will also evaluate patient care outcomes, maintain a safe and secure environment by adhering to infection-control policies and safety regulations, and ensure patient care equipment and supplies are ready and functioning.
This position operates on a rotating schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with shifts of 7pm-7am, 7am-7pm, or 11am-11pm, totaling 72 hours over a two-week period. The role requires performing with minimal supervision while demonstrating knowledge of several departments and maintaining competence in nursing capabilities.
