Travel Nurse RN - Pediatrics

About the Position

TravelNurseSource is partnering with Cynet Health to locate a qualified Pediatric Registered Nurse for a 14-week contract in the Bronx, New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a large acute care hospital setting, focusing on the specialized needs of pediatric patients.

The Role

As a Pediatric RN, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care plans in collaboration with the broader healthcare team. Your day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct, individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients. You will manage the full spectrum of patient needs, from preparing and administering prescribed medications to performing wound care, inserting catheters, and initiating IVs.

This position requires a high degree of clinical judgment, particularly in monitoring patient vitals, interpreting measurements, and promptly reporting any adverse reactions to medications. You will also play a key educational role, answering questions and guiding patients and their families through surgical procedures and post-operative care. Additionally, you will collaborate on discharge planning and ensure all patient files and medical records are meticulously maintained in adherence to best nursing practices and protocols.

Application Process

Interested candidates must possess a valid New York RN license with primary source verification. Essential certifications include AHA BLS and PALS. Applicants should have a minimum of two years of Med/Surg Rehab experience in a large acute care hospital, with the most recent experience occurring within the past year. Additional onboarding requirements include completion of a Pharmacology course, a Skills Checklist, and a Specialty Exam.
