About the Role

As a Surgery Registered Nurse, you will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team of providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role exists to ensure patient safety and workflow efficiency within the Operating Room through continuous investment in state-of-the-art equipment and a culture of mutual respect.

In this position, you will evaluate patients prior to surgery, manage intravenous therapy and preoperative medications, and lead surgical site verification protocols. Your day will involve assessing patient conditions, monitoring shifts, and documenting care changes while responding to emergencies. You will also serve as a vital educator, guiding patients and families through procedures, medical conditions, and follow-up measures. The role includes rounding with unit leaders to ensure your voice is heard in improving patient care and surgical workflows. While self-preferential scheduling is posted four weeks in advance for predictability, on-call availability during select non-business hours is required.
