About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at Avera McKennan Hospital, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions. Your day-to-day involves providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their conditions, medications, and self-care skills.

You will collaborate closely with physicians and the broader healthcare team to coordinate care, review prescriptions, and communicate the nursing care plan. This role requires you to teach healthcare requirements, evaluate patient outcomes against therapeutic standards, and maintain a safe, secure environment by adhering to infection-control policies and legal regulations. You will also be responsible for documenting patient care services and maintaining the operation of patient care equipment and supplies.
