Lutheran Hospital has served the Wheat Ridge and surrounding communities for over 100 years. Evolving from humble beginnings as a tuberculosis sanitarium, it is now one of the country's top hospitals, holding Level II trauma, Heart and Neurovascular Center, Chest Pain Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center designations. In 2024, Lutheran opened a brand-new facility to provide greater access to life-saving emergency services. Conveniently located near I-70, the hospital welcomes patients from the entire Denver Metro area.
As part of Intermountain Health, a faith-based, nonprofit organization, Lutheran is proud to hold the Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The hospital focuses on person-centered care, extending its mission to provide comprehensive, specialty care to the poor, the vulnerable, and the community at large.
The Orthopedic Surgery department is the largest service line within the hospital's Operating Room, which features nine surgical suites, a heart room, a cystoscopy room, and on-site DaVinci robotics. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a brand-new department and be one of the first leaders on a creative, hardworking, close-knit team of surgeons and Ortho OR RN professionals.
The Ortho Surgery RN Program Coordinator is a pivotal leadership role responsible for supervising hospital activities and coordinating between patient care areas and other departments to ensure the delivery of safe, appropriate, and innovative patient care. You will serve as a role model, mentor, and clinical resource for your assigned area, supporting staff in resolving patient and unit issues while fostering a culture of commitment to patient-focused service.
In this position, you will bring your body, mind, heart, and spirit to your work. You will be expected to stay organized, move fast, and respond calmly in high-pressure situations. Your generosity with thoughts, partnerships, and passion for patient care will drive the team forward. You will participate in performance improvement activities, assist with managing staff, projects, and budgets, and partner with physician leaders to create an environment of integrity and compliance.
Your day will involve supervising daily staffing and productivity, overseeing personnel training, and ensuring all activities align with applicable policies, laws, and accreditation standards. While you will lead and coordinate, you will also perform the responsibilities of an RN as needed, demonstrating exemplary service orientation to patients, providers, and staff.
