About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Labor & Delivery unit, you will function as an experienced clinician at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. This PRN position is designed for a professional nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, providing direct, compassionate care to a diverse patient population with varied and complex needs.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain high-quality care that achieves desired treatment outcomes. Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies. You will serve as a vital patient and family advocate, ensuring patient rights are monitored and maintained while utilizing critical thinking and clinical judgment to work autonomously.
Beyond direct patient care, this position offers opportunities for leadership and growth. You may assume progressive responsibilities such as serving as a charge nurse, precepting students or new employees, and participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives. You will also contribute to hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management, helping to drive innovation and efficiency in patient care pathways.
