The Staff Registered Nurse at Essex Specialized Surgical Institute plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive nursing care to ambulatory surgical patients throughout the entire peri-operative journey. From the pre-operative phase through intra-operative support and into post-operative recovery, this position is dedicated to ensuring patient safety and meeting individual needs.
In this role, you will serve as a key collaborator with surgeons and anesthesia providers, anticipating clinical requirements to facilitate smooth surgical interventions. Your day-to-day involves preparing operating rooms, managing equipment and supplies, and maintaining a sterile, safe environment. You will be responsible for patient identification, site verification, and providing comfort and reassurance while upholding the highest standards of privacy and dignity.
Beyond clinical duties, you will contribute to the center's culture of quality and safety by participating in risk management programs and adhering to strict HIPAA and policy standards. The role also offers opportunities to mentor new staff, teach new techniques, and engage in continuing education to maintain professional competence.
As part of the nursing team at Essex Specialized Surgical Institute, you will work within a structured environment focused on the philosophy and goals of specialized surgical care. You will report to the Registered Nurse Team Leader or Director of Nursing and function as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team committed to efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold current state licensure. While operating room experience and certifications in BLS and ACLS are preferred, the primary focus is on a demonstrated commitment to professional standards and patient safety.
