The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital member of the surgical team, delivering patient-centered care that places empathy at the heart of every interaction. As a core value of PPOA, this approach ensures that patients and their families feel supported throughout the perioperative journey. In this role, you will oversee the nursing process—from initial pre-op assessment and care planning to implementation and evaluation—while guiding support staff and collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to strategize and execute optimal care plans.
You will function under the direction of the Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager, or ASC Administrator, ensuring that every procedure adheres to the highest standards of safety and quality. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve maintaining a sterile environment, managing surgical equipment and supplies, and accurately documenting patient health records. You will act as a critical liaison between the surgical team and the patient, interpreting physician orders, anticipating potential complications, and taking proactive precautions to minimize risks in both the Operating Room (OR) and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Beyond clinical duties, this position requires active participation in the center's safety management program, including infection control, hazardous materials handling, and emergency preparedness. You will also engage in professional growth through cross-training opportunities, staff meetings, and the mentorship of colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Candidates interested in joining our team should ensure they possess a current active State Registered Nursing License and relevant certifications, including BLS and ACLS. While CNOR certification is preferred, it is not required for initial application. Those with IV Sedation certification will be given priority.
PPOA is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every team member is valued. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring that our environment reflects the communities we serve. We adhere to all government regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain compliance with AAAHC regulations and the Nurse Practice Act. Our culture emphasizes professional courtesy, effective communication, and a shared responsibility for patient safety and well-being.
