As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members, and visitors, going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect, and compassion.
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Rochester General Hospital is a Critical Care Unit dedicated to providing specialized care for patients recovering from surgery. This role exists to ensure a safe and supportive transition from the operating room to recovery, bridging the gap between anesthesia and general ward care.
In this position, you will monitor and assess patients' vital signs as they recover from anesthesia, identifying and addressing any complications or changes in patient conditions promptly. Your day will involve educating patients and families on post-operative care and recovery expectations while collaborating closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will serve as a vital link in the care continuum, providing physical, educational, and emotional support to patients and their loved ones during a critical time.
