As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members, and visitors, going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect, and compassion.
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Rochester General Hospital is a Critical Care Unit dedicated to providing specialized care for patients recovering from surgery. This role exists to ensure a safe and supportive transition from the operating room to recovery, bridging the gap between surgical intervention and post-operative stability.
In this position, you will monitor and assess patients' vital signs as they recover from anesthesia, identifying and addressing any complications or changes in patient conditions promptly. You will serve as a vital educator, guiding patients and families on post-operative care and recovery expectations. Your work involves close collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care throughout the recovery journey.
Candidates are encouraged to review program-specific requirements for disease-specific care programs, which may include additional experience or educational expectations. All physical requirements reported by a prospective employee or their physician will be considered for reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
