The Palliative Medicine Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for adult patients and families facing various types of chronic and life-limiting diseases. This role is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education, assessment, care planning, and coordination. The RN will work within the ambulatory and hospital settings to support the care of this population.
You will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. The role requires an individual who is comfortable with ambiguity and enthusiastic about being a partner in expanding and defining the role of the registered nurse in this dynamic practice. You will provide leadership through activities such as preceptorship, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. Additionally, you may participate on committees or projects and possess excellent communication skills to mentor and teach others.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification. Internal applicants should submit their three most recent performance appraisals as part of the application process.
