Operating within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, this role encompasses the full spectrum of nursing responsibilities: planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating care for assigned patients. The position is grounded in the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care delivery.
Beyond clinical duties, the RN acts as a leader within the team. This includes serving as a preceptor, engaging in formal and informal leadership initiatives, and driving quality improvement efforts. The role requires delegating patient care effectively based on skill levels, patient acuity, and resource availability. Success in this position demands excellent communication skills, a talent for mentoring, and the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within a dynamic work environment.
Work Environment & Requirements
This role offers the flexibility to work across various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, with potential on-call responsibilities. While computer skills and experience with electronic medical record systems are required, the position also values the ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of their professional responsibilities.
Sponsorship Information
