This position supports the Med Surg team at the AMC Grafton facility (IU 1st Floor General Surgical). As a key member of the nursing team, you will work under the direction of Registered Nurses to ensure high-quality patient care. Your day will involve assisting with daily patient needs, including hygiene, feeding, and mobility, while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. You will play a vital role in the patient journey by participating in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring rooms are properly set up and patient belongings are managed. From collecting specimens and performing point-of-care testing to monitoring vital signs and documenting care in the Electronic Medical Record, your attention to detail directly impacts patient outcomes. You will also practice strict infection prevention protocols and utilize proper techniques for patient positioning and lifting to maintain skin integrity and safety.
