This role is designed to support our registered professional nurses in delivering direct and indirect patient care, ensuring that every patient receives the attention and comfort they need.
In this position, you will serve as a vital link in the patient care team, performing delegated tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. Your primary focus will be assisting patients with activities of daily living, promoting comfort, and maintaining a safe, clean environment. You will interact proactively with patients and their families to ensure a positive experience throughout their stay.
Your day will involve a mix of hands-on care and logistical support. You will assist with basic physical care, transport patients to tests and procedures using safe handling equipment, and escort patients during discharge. Additionally, you will perform routine tasks such as glucose monitoring, specimen transport, and recording vital signs. You will also provide respiratory support, assist with physical therapy activities, and act as a constant visual observer when assigned sitter duties. Effective communication with the nursing team regarding patient concerns, nutrition issues, and equipment needs is essential to keeping the unit running smoothly.
