About the Role

As a Utility (Flex) Officer, you will serve as a versatile security professional capable of working multiple posts to cover call-offs or vacations. You will patrol industrial plants, commercial establishments, docks, and work sites, ensuring the safety of buildings, grounds, and public areas. Your day-to-day responsibilities include detecting fires, unsafe conditions, and security breaches, as well as investigating disturbances, thefts, and accidents.

You will act as the first line of defense by examining doors and gates, monitoring thermostatic controls, and regulating vehicle and pedestrian traffic. In emergency situations, you will coordinate with management and enforcement officers, sounding alarms or contacting police and fire departments as necessary. This role requires the ability to apprehend unauthorized persons and report irregularities to supervisors, all while maintaining a professional and observant presence.
