The Airport Ambassador serves as the welcoming face of the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport, providing exceptional customer service and support to passengers, visitors, and airport stakeholders. This position is designed to create a safe, efficient, and positive travel experience for individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities. As a front-line ambassador, you will be a visible presence throughout the terminal buildings, roadways, and parking areas, actively engaging with the public to assist with luggage, wheelchairs, lost vehicles, and general inquiries.
Beyond direct customer assistance, the Ambassador plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, secure, and professional environment. You will coordinate with airport staff, airlines, security, and emergency personnel to ensure smooth operations, monitor for unusual events, and assist during emergencies ranging from fire alarms to medical calls. The role also involves managing parking operations, including operating monitoring stations, processing transactions, and enforcing parking regulations and city ordinances.
This is a part-time position scheduled from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Thursday through Saturday. The role requires working in all weather conditions and maintaining a professional demeanor in the face of confrontation or stressful situations. You will be expected to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while fostering positive public relations for the City of Burlington.

Selected candidates must be able to obtain and retain a Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport Secured Area ID badge (SIDA), which includes a 10-year fingerprint-based criminal history records check, a security threat assessment check, and a written exam. Successful candidates will also complete in-house training to acquire the skills necessary to operate airport vehicles safely and professionally.
