The Menino Operating Room consists of 17 rooms dedicated to meeting busy inpatient and emergent surgical needs across dozens of specialties. Recent expansions have equipped the facility with the most advanced surgical technology, including a dedicated hybrid room and a Da Vinci Robotics room, alongside renovated team spaces. This environment is designed to be fast-paced and high-skill, fostering a collaborative atmosphere where nurses work across all surgical service specialties alongside highly trained teammates.
As a Registered Nurse in the Menino Operating Room, you will adhere to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations. Your primary responsibility is professional performance and direct patient care, encompassing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and care coordination for patients and their families across the healthcare continuum. You will be accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes, utilizing the nursing department's model of care and following established agency policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice.
This position operates on a 24-hour schedule covering Days and Evenings, with a rotation of every third weekend. Call requirements are mandatory for this role. Candidates must hold a current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. While a Diploma or ASN is required, a BSN is preferred, with the expectation of obtaining one within four years.
The compensation range for this position is $38.05 to $75.33 per hour, determined by a comprehensive approach considering education, experience, and licensure.
