This Registered Nurse position is located on Francis 7B (FR7B), The Suites at Saint Marys, an eight-bed inpatient unit designed for patients seeking additional amenities during hospitalization. The unit features spacious rooms with enhanced furnishings, an executive chef providing gourmet meals, and a business center for patients and guests. The team primarily cares for adult medical/surgical patients as well as those requiring progressive care.
The Registered Nurse is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. You will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, supporting professional nursing practice across the continuum of care. This role involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of care, while providing leadership through preceptorship, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to mentor and teach, and the capacity to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
