Located in the GI Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinic, this Registered Nurse (RN) role provides both direct care through face-to-face visits and indirect, non-visit care. Patient interactions may include reviewing health issues, medication management, and patient education. Non-visit care and patient management are performed primarily over the phone or via video, involving symptom-based inquiries, follow-up care, and outcome management.
This position requires expert critical thinking, time management, and the ability to function autonomously in an unpredictable environment. The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including patient/family education and transitions of care, while supporting professional nursing practice across the continuum. You will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which encompasses planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. The role also offers opportunities for leadership through preceptorship, formal and informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
There may be an opportunity for hybrid or remote work after the successful completion of orientation and training. Please note that a subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of their responsibilities.
