About the Role
You will be part of the 3S Comp-Med Stepdown unit (3 South), a dedicated 29-bed medical stepdown unit specializing in the care of patients diagnosed with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses. The unit also offers general medical services to patients requiring cardiac monitoring across cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
As an RN on this unit, you will undergo special training and education regarding non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, and A-PAP). You will provide infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care. Additionally, 3 South is a dedicated stroke unit, and all RNs are NIH Stroke Scale certified.
Your Day-to-Day
You will deliver best-in-class care by following The Christ Hospital Health Network Nursing Process:
- Assessment: Deliver comprehensive care by assessing the patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational needs while collaborating with your healthcare team.
- Diagnosis & Planning: Create personalized care plans that prioritize patient needs and goals in close partnership with the patient and family.
- Implementation: Provide evidence-based care by educating patients and families, executing well-planned interventions, and utilizing hospital policies and procedures.
- Evaluation: Monitor and adjust care based on patient outcomes and evidence-based practices.
- Leadership: Drive improvement and achieve better outcomes through the development and evaluation of Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives. You will advocate for High Reliability principles, use data to fuel progress, and demonstrate leadership by motivating, educating, delegating, and mentoring peers.
