You will join the Labor and Delivery team at the Family Birth Center, located on the Eisenberg campus. This unit is comprised of eleven birthing/recovery suites, three surgical delivery rooms, and a neonatal resuscitation room. The focus of care is family-centered, delivered through a couplet care model for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their newborn babies.
In this role, you will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, coordinating nursing care that includes direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. You will support professional nursing practice across the continuum of care, providing leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. The team collaborates with a variety of resource persons, including physicians from Obstetrics, Family Medicine, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Anesthesiology, as well as certified nurse midwives and neonatal nurse practitioners.
