Saint Luke's Community Hospitals, a division of Saint Luke's South Hospital, is part of BJC Health System, the only faith-based, nonprofit, locally owned health system in Kansas City. With over 12,000 employees, the organization strives to be the best place to receive and give care. The team operates within a highly diverse and inclusive workspace where all voices matter, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.
We are seeking a Lead Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our community hospital team. This role offers a distinct experience compared to metro locations, providing greater autonomy with ER providers and deeper involvement in daily operational activities due to the smaller hospital setting. You will have the opportunity to work alongside specially trained paramedics and perform on-site lab work, drawing and processing samples for patients.
In this position, you will perform ongoing assessments and provide direct patient care across a variety of acuity levels. The role is designed for nurses who want to experience the full spectrum of nursing, offering more time spent with patients and the flexibility to manage care within established state standards. You will thrive here if you are a patient-centered, self-driven professional committed to exceptional care in a high-pressure environment.
At Saint Luke's, we value our nurses' knowledge, experience, and expertise. Our leadership supports nurse engagement, ensuring your voice is heard, and encourages participation in strong nurse governance. We offer various opportunities for growth, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs), leadership training, and a dedicated Career Advancement Program. As a team member, you will have the opportunity to influence and improve your unit, the hospital, and the broader healthcare industry.
