Rochester Regional Health is dedicated to being the engine and heart of patient care. Our mission is to make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members, and visitors by going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect, and compassion.
The Acute General Medicine Unit (4800) provides specialized care for patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and a wide range of complex medical diagnoses. This unit offers Registered Nurses the unique opportunity to develop and refine advanced clinical skills in areas such as cardiac care with telemetry monitoring, diabetes management, renal disease and dialysis, pulmonary conditions, and the management of patients with multiple drips, drains, and catheters.
As a Registered Nurse on the Acute General Medicine team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered clinical care. Your day will involve performing initial and ongoing assessments of patients, utilizing appropriate physical, psychological, and risk-screen data tailored to their chronological and developmental age. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to communicate findings and document care, ensuring all resources are utilized to meet the unique needs of the patient and their family.
You will be responsible for developing, documenting, and revising individualized plans of care that align with patient strengths, limitations, and goals. The role requires strict compliance with organizational policies regarding safety, medication administration, and documentation. Additionally, you will contribute to the advancement of nursing practice by completing clinical research utilization forms and maintaining mandatory continuing education and health screenings.
Rochester Regional Health supports professional growth through a Clinical Ladder program (Levels I-IV). Your level at the time of hire will be determined based on your qualifications and ability to meet specific requirements. This program includes established compensation add-ons for each level.
