About the Role
The Registered Nurse II serves as a vital member of the surgical team within the Operating Room and Procedure Suites. In this role, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. Your primary focus is delivering safe and effective care while collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired clinical results.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment without nights or call duties. The schedule consists of 36 hours per week, covering days, Saturdays, Sundays, and one weekday shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. For candidates with existing Operating Room experience, a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available with a two-year commitment.
Hiring Process
To join our team, applicants must hold a current license as a registered nurse from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. While a Bachelor of Nursing degree is preferred, those hired with an Associate or Diploma degree must enroll in an accredited BSN program within two years of hire. Candidates without prior OR experience will be required to complete Periop 101 training.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment based on applicable qualifications, merit, and business need. MUSC participates in the federal E-Verify program to confirm the identity and employment authorization of all newly hired employees.
