Senior Community Care of Michigan PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services (VOANS), serving as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the parent organization. Our PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) centers bring together clinical professionals, housekeepers, maintenance associates, and culinary employees to provide comprehensive care. Unlike many clinical environments, our centers offer flexible work schedules, with most positions requiring only occasional weekends.
Located in Lansing, Michigan, our team values staff and residents at the highest level. We foster a work-life balance through standard working hours and paid-time off benefits, creating moments of appreciation throughout the year. VOANS has been voted a "Great Place to Work" by employees for four consecutive years, with staff noting that their work holds special meaning beyond just a job.
As a Registered Dietitian, you will serve as a vital member of the Interdisciplinary Team, ensuring the nutritional needs of our elderly participants are met. Under the supervision of the Center Manager, you will screen and assess participant nutritional status, using pertinent data to plan and implement appropriate nutrition interventions. Your day-to-day involves coordinating meal services, monitoring kitchen facilities to ensure standards are met, and collaborating with contracted meal services to align with participant needs.
You will provide nutritional education to participants and caregivers, as well as direction and supervision to Dietary Aides. By functioning as a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team, you will communicate participant changes, collaborate on care planning decisions, and coordinate 24-hour care delivery. Your role ensures that quality nutrition care is delivered through evidence-based processes, including regular in-person re-assessments and ongoing monitoring of medical diagnoses, hydration, and intake.
To apply, please submit your application through our career portal. Candidates selected for the next stage will be contacted for an interview to discuss their experience and fit within our team.
At VOANS, we celebrate sharing, encouraging, and embracing diversity. We believe that blending individual strengths and unique personal differences nurtures our shared commitment to our mission.
