Family Health Network operates as a not-for-profit managed care community network within the hospitals and health care industry, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1995, the organization focuses on delivering quality health insurance to underserved populations across Chicago and Cook County. Unlike other entities in the sector, it is governed directly by local health care providers, a structure designed to align provider incentives with high-quality patient outcomes.
Over nearly two decades, the network has grown into a prominent leader in government-sponsored Medicaid managed care programs. It maintains partnerships with a wide range of medical facilities, including specialized psychiatric and children's care centers. By treating providers as partners rather than mere contractors, the organization has sustained stable operations while navigating the fluctuations of the for-profit market. This approach has fostered enduring relationships with medical professionals and expanded access to care for families and individuals in the region.
Customer service and member satisfaction serve as core metrics for the organization's success. The provider and member services unit consistently achieves high industry ratings through continuous feedback loops with enrollees and clinicians. Specific initiatives include pre-natal education, well-child programs, and timely immunization support for children. These efforts aim to assist low-income families in accessing the quality health care they deserve while ensuring responsive support during enrollment periods.
