Nashville Classical East seeks a paraprofessional teacher committed to working hard, having fun, and making history. Our team educates a diverse community through a joyful, rigorous curriculum and within a structured, intentional culture, building a foundation of knowledge and habits for high school, college, and life.
A paraprofessional at Nashville Classical supports our mission by expanding inclusionary opportunities for all scholars, including those with exceptional needs. You will work directly with scholars daily to help them access the general education curriculum and increase their achievement toward IEP goals. This support occurs within general education and pullout classrooms, using least-invasive interventions, while holding scholars to high expectations both academically and behaviorally.
Beyond direct student support, you will implement school-wide systems for scholar culture and collaborate with both Scholar Supports and General Education teachers to best serve scholars. We prioritize a "Scholar First" attitude, ensuring students feel safe, supported, and successful.
The role operates on a daily schedule from 7:30am to 3:00pm, featuring approximately 30 minutes of paid planning time and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. You will commit to attending three weeks of paid Professional Development during the Summer and School Year. Flexibility is key, as you may be asked to support different areas of our special education department at any time depending on situations and needs.
Nashville Classical pays at least 5% above our local school district for similar positions. Paraprofessionals can select from three generous medical plans and are eligible for full state retirement benefits. The position follows a 10-month schedule with an unpaid Summer Break.
As an equal opportunity employer, we hire without consideration to race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
